The Fisherman 
This piece was inspired by my uncle. Like anyone you love dearly, you can never quite articulate how much someone means to you or how much you love them. This piece flourished from a quiet moment to myself thinking about him. I’ve written this over and over in my head and I can’t quite find the way to express this piece exactly but in short let me say. 
It is built on waterways representing the sea. The waterways are joined together like a fishermans net, he was born and raised on the sea. He built a strong community for himself, surrounded by love. He was kind, he was gentle but he was also abrupt and abrasive. Traits picked up through hardships that many of us couldn’t imagine. Yet still he remained the glue that kept many of us together. The shining light at the end of the tunnel. I am grateful to have felt this love. 
This piece isn’t for him exactly, it was for me. A big exhale of emotion on canvas.
